Verdict
Holeinthewall Bar has had 15 starts over fences and never won though he's been placed five times. His last three runs have been over hurdles while Ascot De Bruyere made a successful debut for new connections over hurdles in February and has generally performed with credit over fences. Calivigny has won twice over hurdles here and finished a close second over fences on the track last month but ran very poorly at Kelso last time. Mango Cap, a winner over hurdles at Perth, was having his first start over the bigger obstacles when a never dangerous third at Taunton. He's only six and bred for jumping fences so should get into the frame. Winning point-to-pointer FREDDIES PORTRAIT (NAP) ran quite well over hurdles but was always going to be a chaser and made a fine start when runner-up to the in-form Halcyon Days at Carlisle. He's only 2lb higher and this should be within his capabilities.
