In depth
Verdict
Corlande races from a much lower mark here than if this were a hurdle and can make a winning debut for his new yard, while Something Silver and Oscar The Boxer are both very much respected. The selection gets in here off a mark of 96, having been as high as 119 over hurdles. Granted, his five chase starts last season failed to yield success, but he has now changed hands to join Donald McCain, and he can begin to realise his chasing potential as a result, and he could soon look well handicapped. Something Silver has trip and ground to suit here and is another whose chase mark is significantly lower than that over hurdles. His recent debut over fences here was pleasing and back over this trip he is very interesting. Oscar The Boxer is a chasing debutante who comes from a good yard. However, he drops back to a trip that he stayed easily over hurdles and despite having the cut he needs in the ground, he might be better as a betting proposition when sent back over staying trips. Kirkside Pleasure is a course winner who comes from a yard that has winners here, so he can go well before probably finding he has too much weight to carry, and Corlande is our choice here.
