Verdict
A poor contest gets proceedings under way but it is competitive contest none the less and the principals look to be Groomer, Expressions and Jimmy Gee and we will take a chance on Groomer. The colt from the Mick Channon yard has shown only a modicum of ability to date but he finished in mid division in a better race last time out and with the step up in trip sure to suit he will be hard to beat. Xpressions showed some ability on his debut in this grade when fourth behind Summerise but he has since disappointed. Jimmy Gee is named after the stable's Amateur rider and catches the eye on breeding but he may just need this his debut run. The remainder have shown very little and are readily opposed so we are happy to side with Groomer.
