In depth

Verdict

Spoils Of War only found an in-form rival too strong at Hexham 12 days ago and seems best in heavy going. Trouble In Paris was ahead of Benefit In Kind when third over a slightly shorter trip here two weeks ago but is 0-21 over fences and was behind THE BISHOP at Hexham in March. Nick Alexander’s gelding will be all the better for his comeback run at the Northumberland circuit and has been dropped a couple of pounds since. Achill Road Boy fell at the first at Newcastle last time and it remains to be seen if that has affected his confidence.
