In depth
Verdict
Nuit Sombre, found out by the soft ground on his debut, looks the one to be with. This half-brother to four winners, will have learnt from the experience and can prove too strong for his rivals. Menuhin, whose dam was a winner over course and distance back in 1997, is from the same family as the high class Kutub. He must be noted if the market speaks in his favour. Xcess Baggage, Crafty Calling, who will almost certainly have improved from his debut and Avondale Lad, from the in form Kevin Ryan's yard, are others to consider.
