In depth

Verdict

Gordon Elliott has some good chances here today starting with WESTERN HONOUR (NAP), who landed a Clonmel maiden over the trip on similar ground and was racing on much softer going in a Cork handicap last time. Northern Soul will be no pushover having landed a novices' contest at Wetherby and run very well behind Erik The Red at Kelso though he pulled up on his only start over this trip. Looks Like Murt made a nice start under Rules when runner-up in a bumper here last month while Leverock Lass, a winning point-to-pointer, had a ton in hand when gaining a surprise victory here last month and wouldn't need much more to take a hand in the finish. The selection's former stable companion Nearly Man has shown potential in bumpers and has a very smart jumping pedigree.
