In depth

Verdict

Jefertiti has a further 7lb rise in the weights to overcome today, and whilst he is not that badly treated on old form, it still makes it tough and so narrow preference is for Native Coll ahead of Something Silver and Stand On Me. A recent winner at Carlisle, the eight-year-old will need to defy a stiff 12 lb rise in the weights. He seems to be improving with every start over fences and with his jockey lightening the burden by 3lbs, he looks sure to go well. Hilltop Silver was racing on quicker ground in Ireland wehen he was last seen but he has form in the mud and so a bold bid could be on the cards, whilst Something Silver is a course and distance winner and has a 2lb pull in the weights today with Jefertiti. Prince Adjal is game enoguh but fairly limited, whilst Watch The Wind is held by the selection last time out but he does have a 12lb pull in the weights this afternoon. Stand On Me needs a check in the betting coming from the Peter Monteith stable who have taken the last two runnings of this race, however we will return to the Nick Alexander-trained Native Coll as the selection.
