Verdict
Ambitious Icarus won at Beverely last summer on quick ground and has been running well in conditions that haven't suited so he's on the shortlist. Salvatore Fury, who ran moderately at Leicester on Saturday, had won at Lingfield previously but was only just over a length in front of Jumbo Steps at Carlisle last July and the runner-up is 11lb better off so should turn the tables despite a long absence. Roy's Legacy has a much better record on the all-weather but he's reverted to turf in very good form and is likely to be in the shake-up. The three-year-old ALASKAN WING has a speedy pedigree and managed to land a nursery at Catterick in October on soft ground. He's likely to be better suited by fast conditions and with Joey Haynes' claim a bonus he's taken to make a successful reappearance.
