Verdict

IMPERIAL SKYLIGHT is given the vote to land the opener where the potentially well-handicapped Bold Account looks the biggest danger. Imperial Skylight, who showed some promise during his first couple of starts, appeared to loose his way slightly over his next couple of starts although valid excuses could be offered for both those lapses. That glimmer of promise which the selection showed during the earlier part of the season was once again seen at Brighton last time out, where a 70-rated rival was one place behind. Being by Imperial Dancer, it could be that he requires some ease in the surface to show his best and he has that ground today. Bold Account is penalised for his recent victory in a seller at Ripon three days ago, making all in the process. His recent form is a big improvement on what he had shown in his first three starts. Bella's Story makes her handicap debut here. She is a half-sister to Geojimali and Blazing Heights, two former smart sorts for the Jim Goldie yard over sprint distances. She has shown ability in her three starts over six furlongs, perhaps appearing a tad out-paced on some occasions. Port Ronan looks harshly treated on what he has shown in five outings. Imperial Skylight is the selection to land the opener. (John McDonnell)
