      Verdict

Another wide open handicap here and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Ptarmigan Ridge, Wanchai Lad, and Yorkshire Blue, and the narrow nomination is given to Wanchai Lad. The selection was a fair fifth behind Kay Two last time out, the return to this longer trip looks sure suit and with the ground in his favour he looks a value bet in an open affair. Ptarmigan Ridge rates the main danger on his latest second behid Cicuit Dancer but all his best form is over the minimum trip and he is taken on with this in mind. Yorkshire Blue looks sure to have the race run to suit but he has yet to win off a mark this high. Ten Shun is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is another that now looks weighted up to his best. Of the remainder, Flying Bantam has dropped to a handy mark but all his best form of late has been over a longer trip and with this in mind for the winner we return to Wanchai Lad to small stakes.
