      Verdict

      Alluring Star has been threatening to get her head back in front of late but wouldn't want testing ground. In contrast, JOSHUA THE FIRST would welcome more rain and having slipped down the weights since scoring at Carlisle last season, Keith Dalgleish's charge may well come out best. Recent course and distance winner Goninodaethat is up 7lb but should still give a good account though both Jessie's Spirit and Ptolemy have gone off the boil since winning earlier in the season. Berbice showed a bit more last time and is not out of this off his current mark.
