In depth

Verdict

Ripon maiden winner NEUTRAFA looks up to winning off her current mark having gone close at Musselburgh last month. Dropping down a grade today, she can come out best if handling the surface. Persian Herald has no problem with soft going and he too went close to winning when runner-up at Salisbury last time, while Triple Eight has a chance on last month's third in a claimer at Hamilton. The handicapper has been reluctant to drop Goldenveil but has finally relented and the latter is now 5lb lower than when fourth at Beverley in August, though it's difficult to have much confidence in the inconsistent Retreat Content.
