Verdict

This could turn out to be an informative contest but, given the current weather, it must be significant that Warren Greatrex has chosen to send the smart Irish bumper winner HIGH STAKES up from Lambourn to make his hurdling debut. Famous Bridge started favourite when second at Carlisle and is preferred to stablemate Release The Kraken. Corrigeen Rock made all at Kelso and the second was runner-up again at Newcastle on Saturday so Lucinda Russell’s unbeaten gelding is respected while Ballycoose won a Down Royal bumper in May. Monte Igueldo was an eye-catcher at Wetherby and the French import could be another to follow.
