Verdict
A 14-runner, seven-furlong handicap and, despite the long run in, Ayr tends to favour horses drawn low in races at this distance. True Night has been disappointing since joining David Nicholls but, if making a return to form, has a clear chance. Thanks Max is on a winning mark for local trainer Linda Perratt, while Shouf Al Badou, Desert Royal and three-time course winner Jeffrey Anotherred can't be discounted while Francis Flute has more scope for improvement than most. It looks a competitive affair and the list of those mentioned is by no means an exhaustive one.
