In depth

Verdict

Darceys Dancer, a dual winner on good ground over timber in October, will have come on for his recent debut over fences at Punchestown and looks certain to make a chaser in time. The handicapper raised Grand Opera 20lbs after he completed a hat-trick over hurdles last August which not surprisingly stopped him in his tracks. He makes his chasing debut here and is one to keep an eye on. Macs Mandalus has plenty of experience over the bigger obstacles and has run well on occasions but may just be vulnerable as he has failed to complete the course in three of his nine starts. Spring The Que has some decent form over fences though the fact that he's still a maiden after 10 starts is off-putting so FLAG OF HONOUR, a very good runner-up to Kotkidy at Killarney on only his second start over fences, gets the vote.
