In depth

Verdict

A poor contest to end the day but CARLETON PLACE is in good form and gets the vote. He attracted some support when gaining his first success at Tramore last time and fast ground is the key to his improvement. Port La Chaine has dropped 14lbs since gaining his only success over fences here last September and it's not difficult to see why though this won't take much winning and could bounce back. Francis Du Mesnil was conceding 1lb to Alabama Banjo when beating him just under a length at Listowel last September so the runner-up should just about turn the tables on Arthur Moore's charge at the revised weights.
