In depth

Verdict

Rodney Bay has had a couple of runs on the Flat since placed twice over timber earlier in the summer and, though vulnerable to an improver, looks likely to get into the frame. BENNY THE DUKE's second to Ginto at Navan last November is the stand-out form here and he hasn't had much luck in-running in his two recent starts so looks the one to beat. Monrocher made a reasonable hurdling debut at Kilbeggan and improvement will be expected while winning point-to-pointer Gold Cup Bailly is in leading ownership and wouldn't need to improve much on what he's shown so far to have a hand in the finish.
