Verdict

RUSSIAN DIAMOND returns to action for a first start of the year and tackles hurdles for the first time since June 2020. He's a versatile performer and two and a quarter miles should not prove inconvenient. Hopefully he's ready to roll after his absence and his class is taken to see him home. Plains Indian was an an easy winner of a Clonmel maiden hurdle three starts back but the ratings suggest he has something to find and Supreme Jet may emerge as a more dangerous challenger to the selection after not running too badly on the level this month. Hope Des Blins has only had three starts over hurdles and is another who needs to find more.
