In depth

Verdict

Jimmy The Saint overcame a three-year absence from the track to score on his hurdling debut at Towcester. As long as that hasn't taken too much out of him, Donald McCain's eight-year-old should be thereabouts again here and is much preferred to disappointing stablemates Any Given Moment and Kalulushi. But it may be worth sticking with NOM DOM, who has improved with every run over hurdles and beat Clowance House with a bit in hand at Leicester on his most recent start. There's every chance this longer trip will suit. Alone They Stand has an interesting pedigree and is the mount of AP McCoy while Jonjo O'Neill's other entry, Thehillofuisneach, showed up well at Chepstow last month and still has plenty of scope.
