In depth

Verdict

A trappy opener to get matters underway and it could be worth siding with Billyandi ahead of Caraman and The Bonus King. Although the yard of Nigel Twiston Davies have proved a little hit and miss to predict - there were plenty of punters wanting to get on the six-year-old at Perth as he gave weight and a beating to Supply and Fix. The handicapper has not gone overboard and any rain would not go amiss. Caraman hails from a yard that are in form. Sent off favourite for a race at Market Rasen last season, he has ability and should be fit from a few spins on the level. The Bonus King won nicely on fast ground at Fontwell and has performed creditably against novice company. This is a step up in class and the ground is not sure to suit. Monsieur is sure to be popular with AP McCoy booked. He made all at Kelso recently and is quickly returned to the track before the handicapper has a chance to reassess. Indian Star's victories have come in selling grade so more is needed here. Lord Lington has gone well when fresh so he is given more than a cursory glance in the market. Having assessed the alternatives, Billyandi is the selection.
