In depth
Verdict
Mead Vale was receiving 18lb when beaten almost 3l by the long odds-on Mac Tottie at Hexham when the only other runner in a three-horse affair pulled up. HANDY HOLLOW won over shorter here in August then showed his liking for a stiffer test when scoring over this trip at Uttoxeter. This looks no tougher and he can go in again. Winning point-to-pointer New List didn't run badly after a long break at Hexham and will be suited by this much longer trip but Sauvignon, a winner in Class 5 company at Worcester, was well beaten from 7lb higher in this grade on a return visit. Flying Verse has struggled since scoring at Southwell, his second victory there this year, but Askari ran better than his form figure implies at Clonmel.
