In depth

There are only five runners in this novice chase but it's a very competitive affair. Open Hearted had one run over fences last year, finishing third at Newbury, and there should be plenty more to come this term. But that's also the case with UP AND GO, who didn't stay 2m7f on his reappearance at Haydock. He'll probably get his own way out in front here, but can make all over the shorter trip. Lord Of House doesn't look a natural chaser while Ahyaknowyerself may need today's experience. Festive Affair has won between the flags but over further and is facing a tough task in this grade after a lay-off.

Ahyaknowyerself (IRE) 33-1 (11-10) Prominent, led after 1st, headed 3rd, with lead when fell next, in a race won by Dell' Arca (10-5) at Cheltenham 2m hcp hdl Grade 3 (1) gd in Nov, 18 ran.

Festive Affair (IRE) 11-2 (11-5) Tracked leaders in 5th, took keen hold early, mistake 6 out and dropped to 6th, no impression after next and lost touch when pulled up before 3 out, collapsed on way back, in a race won by Salsify (11-11) at Punchestown 3m 1f hts chs hvy in Apr, 7 ran.

Lord Of House (GER) 5-1 (11-1) Led to 4th, tracked winner, led again after 6th, headed 4 out, lost 2nd when mistake next, soon no chance with front pair, 4th and weakened after next, last of 4, 33l behind Top Of The Range (11-1) at Ascot 2m 3f beg chs (3) gs in Nov.

Open Hearted 16-1 (11-5) Held up towards rear, some headway after 7th, weakened approaching 3 out, mistake last, 14th of 21, 29l behind Battle Group (10-9) at Aintree 3m hcp hdl Grade 3 (1) gd in Apr.

Up And Go (FR) 3-1 (11-2) Led, slow 12th, ridden when challenged 4 out, headed next, weakening when blundered 2 out, last of 4, well behind Black Thunder (11-7) at Haydock 2m 7f nov chs (2) sft in Nov.
