In depth

Verdict

Elham Valley and State Crown have enough to do at the weights despite the 7lb claims of their respective pilots and Hypnotik is best watched at present. Red Vision was in decent form in the spring and now returns for Donald McCain after wind surgery. He is of interest, along with the twice-raced Rafiki who is pitched into handicaps at this early stage of his hurdling career. He cannot be discounted, nor Long Call, an easy winner here recently but now upped in class. Lignou is hard to fancy at present but KARANNELLE is the choice off the bottom perch. She has to be finessed through her races and delivered as late as possible, but Sean Bowen seems to have worked her out and the pair are taken to make it three wins from the last four runs in an admittedly trappy contest.
