In depth

Verdict

Raya Star quickened well to score on his debut at Uttoxeter in March and will be interesting when faced by eight flights of hurdles. He also has to go on the short-list here, despite his penalty. Avoca Promise ran a nice race at Ascot last month and is another to consider, while Kent Street only found one too good at Newcastle. But big things will be expected of KINGS LODGE, whose family contains a number of smart performers in bumpers and over hurdles. He is Nicky Henderson's only runner at the meeting, which looks a pointer in itself.
