Verdict

Petrus De Sormain was an easy winner last time out but he doesn't look to have beaten much that day so we take SKY MACK to win with Sashenka also considered. There is an element of risk in siding with the selection with the gelding reappearing after 434 days off. That said trainer David Pipe has a proven record at getting his runner's ready after a break and this one is potentially well treated and should go well. Petrus De Sormain won by 10 lengths last time out in a weak looking race and considering the opposition his eight pound mark rise might be prohibitive this time though he is a leading contender on his preferred ground Sashenka is up six pounds for a neck success in similar contest, which is fair however the lines from the race look shaky. Double Obsession is one to consider now off a low looking rating but looks to be fighting for minor honours behind Sky Mack.
