Verdict
This is a competitive handicap hurdle to round off the card and Combat Drinker, Maunsell's Road and Astronaut look to be the leading lights with the vote given to Combat Drinker. The selection finished third behind Relix at Market Rasen last time, and that was a decent effort considering the first three home had gone well clear of the rest of the field. He had previously won well at Wetherby and he looks the one to beat. Maunsell's Road is from a yard that merit plenty of respect in these type of events and he was a fair third behind Fu Fighter at Worcester last time. He should make the frame but he may need some respite from the handicapper before he is able to get his head in front. Astronaut went lame at Uttoxeter last time and that cost him second place behind Idlewild. The market may therefore help to gague the confidence behind him today but if he is at his best he will not be far away. Farington Lodge and Earn Out are from top yards and are others to consider, but Combat Drinker has plenty in his favour today and is taken to get his head in front.
