In depth

Verdict

Love Angel bounced back to winning ways at York on Sunday when running out the eight length winner of an apprentices' handicap and has an obvious chance off the same mark in a race where the main dangers look to be Montjeu Baby and Mink Mitten. The last mentioned is set to go up 1lb in future handicaps, following her recent second in a classified stakes race at Yarmouth, and Declan Daly's filly has to be respected. Seattle Robber is now 11lbs higher than when scoring at Musselburgh in July and seems to be in the grip of the handicapper at present, while Golden Dynasty struggled off his new mark at Goodwood last time and is probably best watched now. Archie Wright has proven to be difficult to win with and of more interest may be James Unett's Raul Sahara, although he is far fro certain to stay this far. Sylvester Kirk's Montjeu Baby ran out the comfortable nine-length winner of a soft-ground handicap at Brighton last month and has to be respected but is less likely to appreciate today's faster ground and is now 10lbs higher so the vote goes to Love Angel. Mark Johnston's gelding could hardly have been more impressive than when winning at York on Sunday and has an obvious chance having escaped a penalty for that success.
