In depth

Verdict

In the maiden, Ruse is selected ahead of Lunar River and, possibly, Mrs Solese. Ruse attracted money at Lingfield last time but failed to land a telling blow. However, a step up in trip and modest opposition will surely make her a major player today. Moves Goodenough showed enough in his first two starts, including here, to be considered in what is a modest race. Tongue-ties and a visor have been used on Lunar River but he has yet to win. However, he will rarely face more modest opponents and he is entitled to place claims. Finally, it is possible that Poliama could improve for her debut last season and she could go well, and Mrs Solese has certainly hinted at ability but, for the selection, we return to Ruse.
