Verdict

Madam Caversfield is taken to score here with Ruling Reef and Colonel Bilko rated as the main dangers. The selection was a good third behind Edge Fund at Brighton last time and with her stable back amongst the winners recently she should take plenty of beating here with conditions to suit. Ruling Reef is far from consistent but she did win over a mile on this track back in June and if she could recapture that form today she would have a big chance. She has been tried over a longer trip on her last couple of runs, so the return to a mile should suit and she is not one to dismiss lightly. Colonel Bilko is another to consider as he was well-backed last time, but he missed the break and was never able to land a serious blow. If the market speaks in his favour again then it could pay to take the hint. Archie Wright looks to be Richard Hannon's second-string here and he has had plenty of chances so we are happy to stick with Madam Caversfield as our idea of the winner.
