Verdict
A wide open maiden gets proceedings under way and as usual in these types of events the market will be all important but the principals look to be Mayadeen, Alfred The Great and Ancient Egypt and the tentative vote goes to Maydeen. The selection was a staying on third behind Hallhoo on his debut he is sure to have come on for the run and given nominal improvement he will be hard to beat. Alfred The Great rates the main danger on breeding alone being a well related Kings Best colt from a top yard he should be noted in the market. Ancient Egypt is another well bred type being a Singspiel colt, full brother to 1m3f winner On Every Street but he may be seen to better effect over a longer trip so he is passed over on this occasion. Of the remainder Giant's Rock was a fair third behind David Junior on his debut and is sure to improve for the step up in trip here. This is a very trappy affair and the market may well tell all but for the winner we return to Maydeen
