Verdict
There are a few in this handicap on a bit of form but having scored on his only previous run here preference is for POPANNAN, who can land a hat-trick while denying Avrilo the same feat and Kakapuka can also make the frame. Versatile as far has conditions are concerned the pick won a soft ground Windsor contest off a low looking rating before showing improved form to score at Brighton last time. He looks a horse on the up and should be capable from just 4lbs heavier in the handicap. Avrilo has won three of his last four starts and set up this hat-trick bid with a very easy victory on the turf at Lingfield. The handicapper has taken note and we think the pick is now better treated. Kakapuka is also entered at Goodwood on Friday but if taking up this assignment is given a chance after a consistent run of results while Desperate Dan hails from a stable in form and looks value for the places with a good record at this track. It promised to be one of the better races on the card and Poppanan looks just the one to side with.
