In depth

Verdict

PRIME DEFENDER returned to winning ways at Doncaster three weeks ago with an impressive win against higher rated rivals than he faces here. Barry Hills' sprinter is the one to beat now he's rediscovered the winning habit. Desert Law has a bit to find on today's terms with the selection, but went close at Ascot last time and is not easily dismissed, but Secret Witness faces stiffer competition here after winning a handicap at Doncaster a week ago. The same comment applies to the other recent handicap winners Joe Packet and Star Rover with the latter beating Bathwick Bear at Ffos Las earlier this month.
