In depth

Verdict

Stepping up in trip, Beauchamp Ribbon is probably worth one more chance in this company, as the opposition looks very modest; Maleyna and Di Young could also go well. The selection has looked a difficult ride in the past, and Gerard Butler's filly never really featured when fifth in a claimer at Haydock earlier this month, but she had earlier finished second in a fair handicap at Windsor and a reproduction of that form would give her a major chance here. Boom Or Bust put up an improved display when third in a selling handicap at Windsor last time, and would not have to improve too much to feature in this, but a better option could be Di Young, who takes quite a steep drop in class here. John Hills' filly has shown signs of ability in the past, is lightly raced and therefore has more scope than most. Maleyna is a similar type who was not disgraced over course and distance last time and will appreciate this company better, but Beauchamp Ribbon looks a slightly safer option and is taken to score under Eddie Ahern.
