Verdict
The handicapper will take a dim view of LANDAMAN's 8l success here on Wednesday and Mark Johnston had little option but to run him under a penalty. Fran Berry takes the ride this time and he's unlikely to get a similar uncontested lead but his mount is impossible to oppose. Red Lover looked well suited by the stiffer test of stamina when sent over this trip for the first time at Leicester and this progressive type can prove a threat along with the consistent Brockfield, though the latter still looks a couple of pounds high in the weights. The veteran Scamperdale rarely runs on Turf these days but is well enough handicapped to make his presence felt.
