In depth

Verdict

This is anybody’s race with most of these old foes. That list includes recent Chester winner Bondi Beach Boy, Wetherby winner Pea Shooter and STANGHOW. The latter drops back down a grade having won at Pontefract in May and gets a token vote. Pea Shooter has also beaten One Boy and Rich Again but a high draw does him no favours while Hamilton winner Imperial Legend is preferred to stablemate Apricot Sky. My Name Is Rio drops in class while Eleuthera has only his second start on Turf having won twice on the all-weather early this year but the latter pair could have both been better drawn.
