In depth

Verdict

Mezzanotte led at halfway but was caught near the line over this trip on fast ground at Lingfield. He has the coveted inside berth here but this is a much stiffer track and NEAT AND DANDY can swoop past him. Richard Fahey's charge was staying on over the trip on soft ground at Haydock when impeded in the closing stages and can gain compensation. Mr Coalville was going on at the finish over 6f at Thirsk while the newcomer Uncs, from a yard going well, is a half-brother to five winners. Stone Axe is another first-timer to note as he's related to seven winners including Group 2 winner Foundation.
