        Verdict

        There have been some shocks in this race in recent years but Serena Brotherton has won it in the past and looks to have a fair chance on Mister Marcasite, who has spent most of his recent career running around Wolverhampton but has shown better form on Turf in his last two starts. Simon Walker is another who has been successful in the event and his mount, Gabrial's Hope, won here in July before finishing last in a Redcar seller. Graceful Act often goes well in these races as she did when scoring at Ripon, when Thello was behind, while the consistent Rubis just failed to land a similar race over the track and trip in July under Emily Bullock won by I'M SUPER TOO. The winner is very well suited by this uphill climb to the finish and looks to have as good a chance as any in a wide-open handicap.
