In depth

Verdict

Drawn Gold and Almost Married should come on for their respective debuts however a first-time visor on Gone Gold is taken to sharpen him up and he gets the nomination ahead of the Godolphin newcomer Twilight Star. Jeremy Noseda's Seeking The Gold colt didn't see a racecourse until April of this year as a three-year-old but ran with promise at Windsor. Expected to win next time out on the all-weather, he let favourite backers down by running green and with the headgear on today, he looks worth giving another chance to. Whilst the drop in trip doesn't look sure to suit, the stiff finish at the East Yorkshire course looks tailor-made and he can win at the third time of asking. Twilight Star is beautifully-bred and whilst market support should be noted, punters should remember that false markets can surround Godolphin newcomers. If the ground doesn't deteriorate though he could make a very pleasing debut. El Dottore shouldn't be ruled out as Michael Bell's only representative at the meeting, especially as he seems to be improving with racing, however Gone Gold is taken to win at the third attempt.
