In depth

Verdict

Becky Smith rode last year’s winner and partners recent Musselburgh third Irv this time while Emily Easterby has won two of the last four renewals for her father’s yard and Sameem can’t be ignored. BIT OF A QUIRKE won at Leicester last week but is a course specialist with six previous wins at the track and he gets the vote with today’s amateur taking 7lb off his back. Rocket Dancer missed out on a hat-trick when below par on the all-weather last time and Classy Dame also returned a beaten favourite at Newbury.
