In depth
Verdict
Just Observing has been knocking at the door and can come good at the expense of Nelsons Column, with Jack Attack and Belgian Quarter out to stop him. Just Observing threw away a winning opportunity when beaten at odds-on by a newcomer at Thirsk three weeks ago but hopefully the step up in trip to a mile will prove the answer. He has certainly looked nothing special to date though and will no doubt be handicapping next year. In the meantime he appears to have been found a sound opportunity to come good and gets the vote over Nelsons Column. The latter has finished second on both starts over six furlongs and will also improve over this trip, so is an obvious danger. Jack Attack looked one paced at Ayr last time, while Belgian Quarter looks as though he already needs further based on his Lingfield fourth. All in all, connections will be disappointed if they have not found the right race for Just Observing.
