In depth

Galloping Hogan won a nursery over a mile at Leicester in the autumn but is 6lb higher on his return and stablemate Sassie may offer more value. Font Vert has found some form on the all-weather lately while Jason Watson is good value for his 5lb claim and that brings handicap debutant Diocletian into calculations. After four runs in maidens in this country, it seemed a strange decision to send MAIL ORDER to Germany for a Listed race. She was well beaten but her stable is already in good form and has a decent strike-rate here - she has decent claims back in the right grade. Rocky Shores was only third of four at Lingfield in March and needs more.

Diocletian (IRE) 5-1 (9-5) Taken to post early, soon led, headed 6f out, remained prominent, ridden and every chance over 1f out, faded inside final furlong, 5th of 11, 4 3/4l behind Brundtland (9-5) at Newmarket 1m 2f mdn stks (3) gf in Oct.

Rocky Shores (IRE) 50-1 (9-2) Led early, tracked leaders, pushed along 3f out, ridden and kept on to go 3rd inside final furlong, 3rd of 4, 4 1/4l behind Night Story (9-2) at Lingfield 1m 4f stks (5) pol in Mar.

Mail Order (8-11) 6th of 9, 16 3/4l behind Dark Liberty (8-11) at Hannover 7f lst fll stks sft in Oct.

Sassie (IRE) 12-1 (9-7) Held up in last trio, pushed along 3f out, headway over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong, 4th of 7, 3 3/4l behind Casima (9-4) at Kempton 1m 4f hcp fll (5) pol in Apr.

Font Vert (FR) 4-1 (9-1) Soon led, headed 8f out, tracked leader, ridden and every chance over 1f out, kept on same pace, 3rd of 6, 3 3/4l behind One Second (9-5) at Wolverhampton 1m 4f hcp (5) pol in Mar.

Strongarm Chaser (IRE) 66-1 (9-5) Always towards rear, 17th of 20, 35 3/4l behind Young Rascal (9-5) at Newbury 1m 3f mdn stks (3) gs in Apr.

Galloping Hogan (IRE) 5-1 (9-3) Led early, tracked leaders, every chance over 2f out, led again over 1f out, ran on well, won at Leicester 1m (6) gs in Oct beating Daffrah (9-2) by 2l, 9 ran.
