Verdict
The lightly-raced Zarneeta is just preferred to the in-form pair Busted Flush and Stagecoach Ruby in this opening juvenile contest. Stagecoach Ruby showed little in her first few starts but came good at Redcar last month when landing a seven-furlong seller there in convincing fashion. She followed up in claiming company over seven furlongs here, after which she was claimed for ¿8,000 and now bids for a hat trick from a new stable. Busted Flush got off the mark at the seventh attempt when scoring in selling company at Thirsk and followed up with a convincing win at Newcastle after which he was bought in for 3,600gns. There is little to choose between this pair on the form book, but we'll take a chance that Zarneeta can foil both of their hat trick bids. Ian Wood's filly made a pleasing start when third at Leicester, keeping on nicely in the closing stages, and was perhaps a shade disappointing when stepped up to seven furlongs at Thirsk next time, finishing fifth behind Laawaris. However, this does represent a drop in class for Zarneeta and, in receipt of a few pounds from her two main rivals, she is fancied to score a maiden victory here.
