In depth

Verdict

Atheneum showed improved form over this trip at Catterick last time and has to be respected but Mark Johnston's colt has a 3lb rise to contend with here and preference is for the progressive Shebang, who gets the vote ahead of Golan Way. The last mentioned has shown improved form since going into nurseries but is another that has gone up in the weights despite not winning and has more to do now so he may be best watched. Willie Musson's Suhayl Star has claims on the pick of his form but is not the most consistent of performers, while Quiddity is hard to weigh up after just the three starts necessary for a handicap mark. Rumbled is another to have had just the three starts and cannot be discounted with the yard of Jonathan Geake among the winners. The vote though goes to Mick Quinlan's Shebang, who has shown gradual improvement in her maidens and makes her nursery debut off what looks a fair mark judged by her latest all the way success here over six furlongs.
