Verdict
Not much public form to go on and, as ever in this type of event, the market will prove an invaluable guide but Desert Arc will take plenty of beating. Jonjo O'Neill's charge made a promising debut when a strong finishing fourth in an above average Cheltenham bumper in late October and looks capable of picking up a race of this nature. The son of Spectrum has not raced since but with his stable firing on all cylinders of late, he should be fit enough to give another solid account. Pass Me By made a winning start to his racing career at Musselburgh in January but this represents a tougher assignment under his penalty and he may have to settle for minor honours on this occasion. Conchita ran encouragingly on his initial start and can only improve for the experience while newcomers Duringthenight and Torosay make plenty of appeal on breeding and a market move could prove significant.
