Verdict
In the opener, Numero de Solzen gets the vote ahead of Windy Hills and Oscar d'Hydrome. More on the selection later but Oscar d'Hydrome ran quite well from a mark of 102 last time, looking as though a stiffer test like today's would suit, so he is respected. The 60-rated 10-furlong Flat winner, Neutrino has to be afforded respect being from the canny Pat Haslam yard, while Secret Pact handled soft on the Flat and showed some promise on his hurdling debut. Windy Hills is improving with every run and gets a good mention, particularly as, if you take literal Hard Act To Follow form, he does not have a huge amount to find with Numero de Solzen, whose form is solid, while the other previous winner in the contest, Some Touch, showed that he can handle heavy when racing in Ireland. Finally, Zaffie Parson has yet to build on her Hexham win which, in turn, returns us to the selection, which is Numero de Solzen.
