Verdict

SEAN BAN had been threatening to win a race before making all over the course and distance last month. He's up 4lb and has a huge weight to carry but looks to have more to offer and can complete a double. Pekanheim hasn't run over hurdles since landing a novices' handicap at Hexham last May and has had mixed fortunes over fences but he's now on exactly the same mark as when successful so with a big weight advantage must be respected. Superior Command didn't appear to enjoy heavy going at Ayr after a much better run on good to soft at Musselburgh while Solway Prince, who ran at Newcastle on Tuesday, gained his only success on fast going.
