In depth

Verdict

An uninspiring race on paper so it is to be hoped that there is more inspiration from the track. RARE COINCIDENCE failed to stay three miles on his most recent hurdling bow but he could make a soft lead count and we take him to see off Sotovik and Vecchio Senso. Roger Fisher's gelding holds few secrets from the handicapper but the 5lb that Garry Whillans takes off should prove a help in an attempt to steal this race from the flag. Sotovik is a regular in Northern events. He remains in the cheekpieces that accompanied his most recent visit to the track. Vecchio Senso was seemingly unfancied at Wetherby but the horse did not know his price and if that evidence is to be believed, he will not be fazed by the step up in trip. Dunbrody House exhibited a fair degree of promise in bumpers though he has been unable to confirm that ability since switched to the hurdling game. Golden Globe won a seller for Ferdy Murphy and is now in the care of his son, Paul. Top It All has shown nothing of note but the booking of rising star, Alexander Voy, appears an interesting one for the Rose Dobbin stable. Solway Ally is frustrating though is off a light racing weight and has conceivable each-way claims. Rare Coincidence gets the call.
