Verdict

After a promising debut at Doncaster, AVALANCHE EXPRESS was strongly supported at Redcar but found the much more-experienced Akeed Champion just too strong. Both starts to date have been on soft ground but the quicker going should suit and he can go one better. That winner is trained by Richard Fahey, who has the newcomer Media Day entered here and she's out of a mare who has produced winners with her first two foals to race. Jillanar hasn't done much wrong and should pick up a race before the season is out and Lavetta showed real progress from her opening run when third behind much better-fancied rivals at Wetherby.
