Corrib Lad is the tentative selection in this race, ahead of Alfy Rich and River Of Light. The selection should benefit from his seasonal reappearance six days ago, and can provide his trainer with a winner at a track that he does so well at with his chasers. He is one who will definitely appreciate the testing conditions, and a reproduction of his previous runs over the course would make him a leading player. River Of Light was successful over a much longer trip when last seen in March, and whilst he will appreciate the soft going, he may get tapped for toe over this shorter trip. Martin Todhunter has a good record when he sends his chasers to his local track, whilst jockey Dominic Elsworth also has a good record around Carlisle, and therefore his mount Alfy Rich could prove to be the biggest threat to the selection. The rest look to be a very ordinary bunch, although The Miner would have some chance if reproducing his best form. So for the winner, we reluctantly return to Len Lungo's Corrib Lad.
