      Verdict

      Prairie Spy looked on the way back to form when a close third at Chelmsford but finished last when favourite at Brighton next time. She's never raced on soft ground nor has SAIKUNG but Charlie Hills' filly has run well enough in recent handicaps to suggest the easier going will be in her favour so she gets the vote. Praxidice made a successful debut in similar conditions here in September. She didn't show much on her reappearance on heavy going here but should have come on for the outing. Epona's only victory came on soft going at Ayr though she didn't run well here last time and though Arletta Star would have to be considered on her narrow defeat here last month, she ran poorly at Redcar a few days later.
